Completed Life Discussion Moves Forward in the Netherlands
Vast majority of Dutch people want euthanasia laws relaxed
It should become easier to perform euthanasia in the Netherlands.
That is the opinion of a large majority of Dutch people, according to a survey among the RTL News Panel.
Now, euthanasia is only allowed under very strict conditions.
Next week, the House of Representatives will discuss a possible relaxation of this, including whether healthy elderly people can receive help with suicide if they consider life “complete.
“I find it very strange. We as human beings did not choose to be born and we cannot make the choice to die either,” said RTL News panel member Bertil.
Death is of course an intense topic, but sooner or later everyone has to deal with it.
Bertil is therefore a strong advocate for more options for a self-chosen end of life.
