To Tariff or Not to Tariff?

This month, the Trump administration tariffs have kicked in.

Because the print Peaceful Pill Handbook and Going to Switzerland: how to plan your final exit are written, published and shipped in/ from the EU, these books just got 15% more expensive for buyers in the US.

Exit cannot absorb this tax, so the amount will be passed on in full.

We have no idea how this new import duty will work but we assume books will be held up at US customs and the duty/ tax/ levy / tariff applied state-side.

The only way to avoid this tax is to subscribe to the online edition, which is a ‘service’ as opposed to a ‘good’.

Services are currently not subject to tariffs.
